ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Shailja.( शैलजा )

Shailja means “daughter of the mountain” in Sanskrit from शैल (shail) “mountain” and जा (ja) “born”. This is another name of the Hindu goddess Parvati.

I was born in Dehradun,a hilly town in the state of Uttarakhand,India and hence was named as Shailja.

I’m

19,

Philosophical,

Quirky,

Confused,

Lazy,

An ambivert,

And I was forced ,by my sister, to write that I am stubborn and insolent too.

People think I’m melancholic, kind and reticent .Well I think,I’d completely change their opinions once I start speaking my heart out to them which I am least interested to do. That’s so,because it’s so evident that most of us are mere speakers and less of listeners.Over the span of so many years I have learnt that the people who really care about you are the ones who know you thoroughly and deeply- your parents, your siblings and just a few friends. That is all.

I like keeping my head ,staying quiet and introspecting.I think the inability to express my emotions by my face has helped me arouse the writer inside me and so I scribe down my every emotion and I believe that each one of us must write down whatever they think.

Well! Opinions differ and so they matter and therefore every being is born a writer.

I scribble about every possible thing around me that keeps me engrossed, be it a ripple in a brook ,nature’s verdure, beauty and woes, ephemerality of life or social issues like terrorism, corruption, racism, injustice, poverty, etc
